Let's be honest, most people don't know what it's like to feel AMAZING, they have never been both fit and healthy at the same time. Chances are, most people have been fit at one point or another in their lives, whether it be when they we're at school, playing sport or theymight have continued their fitness for a while before having kids and letting themselves go. On the other hand there are also some people who have never been in great shape in their life, overweight from a young age (myself) and just didn't want to or didn't know how to get fit.

Your history or story is different from the next person's but there will be a time in everyone's life, that they don't like how they look or feel, and want to make a change. These reasons could range from something as serious as having a health scare and wondering if you will be around see your grandchildren grow up, or it could be something as small as not fitting into a pair of jeans you once did. When you have that moment, what do you do? You start taking a slight interest in your health, you might start looking at the lifestyle section on ninemsn, venture down the health food aisle at Woolworths, you buy a fitness magazine or you hop on the net to do your own research. These are all great first steps, but the fact of the matter is that most people will NOT succeed in reaching their goals. It's the pure honest truth.

Most people, ok everyone, underestimates how hard changing your body and reaching your goals actually is. And then once you've hit your goals, not regressing and going back to the way you were. Fixing your body is more than just buying low fat milk, the truth is, you need an overhaul. Not right away and all at once, but there are going to have to be some big changes. Thinking that you'll just eat what you used to when you we're young and fit won't cut it either. You're body is a homeostatic organism, it resists change. Having extra weight on you will make your body insulin insensitive (more on that on another post) meaning that the foods you used to eat to stay fit just won't work.
